In a twitter post, the President extended his well wishes and felicitations of the joyous day to the people of Maldives.

Taking the podium at the ceremony held to commemorate the day the Maldives embraced Islam, on Wednesday, President Solih called on the nation to uphold our Islamic values and principles.

President Solih went on to note that Islam is the religion of peace, harmony, and brotherhood. The President highlighted the importance of honesty in everything we do.

President Solih called on the nation to stray from acts that promote strife in the community.

He also stated that our unity, fortified by our Islamic faith, is the strongest defense shielding our independence and sovereignty.
