Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ahmed Khaleel met with the members of the Maldives-Japan Parliamentary Friendship League.
State Minister Ahmed Khaleel met with Yoshitaka Shindo, the President and members of the Japan-Maldives Parliamentary Friendship League on Tuesday, during his visit to Tokyo, Japan.
During the meeting, State Minister Khaleel expressed gratitude for the continued support extended by the League’s members to the Maldives.
Additionally, the State Minister highlighted that Maldives and Japan is marking the 55th Anniversary of diplomatic relations between both the countries and discussed ways to strengthen the existing bilateral relationship.
The meeting saw both parties reiterating their shared desire to further enhance and diversify Maldives-Japan partnership in the years ahead.
State Minister Khaleel was in Tokyo accompanying Foreign Minister Shahid, Special Envoy of the President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, on his official visit to attend the State Funeral of Former Prime Minster Abe Shinzo.
State Minister Khaleel was accompanied during the meeting by Ambassador of Maldives to Japan, Hassan Sobir, Deputy Ambassador, Mohamed Ameeth Ahmed Manik and First Secretary, Shafraz Rasheed.
