Prices of chillies have dropped in the local market from the record highs of MVR 800 per kilo.

At the start of Ramadan, the prices of chillies were between MVR 700 and MVR 800. Right now, the prices are between MVR 250 and MVR 300, with 100 grams selling for between MVR 30 and MVR 40.

Merchants say the prices are expected to further go down in the coming days.
