MIRA accepts MVR 1.2 billion as earnings for May

Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA) has revealed that the Authority has accepted MVR 1.2 billion as earnings for the month of May.
Monthly statistics published by the Authority shows that 49 percent of this came from GST, which amounts to MVR 598.2 million.
Bank profit taxes accounted for MVR 317.1 million, while MVR 72.4 million was from BPT. An additional MVR 63.1 million came from green taxes and MVR 49.1 million as airport service charge.
MIRA said this figure was a 5.9 percent increase compared to the same period last year. The increase is attributed to increases in GST, withholding tax, airport service charge and green taxes.
MIRA also reported US$ 35.2 as earnings in dollars.
