Villingilli constituency MP, Saud Hussein, has said that he is to be charged with conspiring to murder High Court judge Shujau Usman.
MP Saud was summoned to the police at around 8:30 pm on Thursday and was released about three hours later at about 11:15 pm.
After having been released, Saud told RaajjeMV that he had denied the allegations.
“I am not someone that wants to or has to do something of the sort they are accusing me of” he said.
The police had arrested Ibrahim Haneef, a former deputy minister at the Ministry of Education for the same crime.
He was arrested on April 5th, and was repeatedly remanded before being released to house arrest on the 16th of last month.
The prosecutors reportedly have an audio recording and a testimony from a government official as evidence against Haneef.
Both Haneef and Judge Usman are native to the same island, Villingili in Gaafu Alifu atoll.
