The national squad for the Asian Cup Qualifiers against Bhutan and the friendly against Afghanistan has been announced.
The team began preparations with a 27-man squad. This has been trimmed down to 23 players, excluding players Mohamed Azzam, Ibrahim Waheed Hassan and keepers Hussain Shareef and Abdullah Zimaam.
Football Association of the Maldives (FAM) said that Azzam was excluded due to injury.
Players Amdhaan Ali, Mohamed Irfan, Asadhullah Abdullah, Assad Ali, Mihamed Umair, Samooh Ali, Hussain Niyaz Mohamed, Hamza Mohamed, Mohamed Rasheed, Ali Fasir, Ahmed Abdullah, Akram Abdul Ghanee, Imran Nasheed, Ahmed Rizwan, Ahmed Zaad, Shafiu Mohamed, Ismail Easa, Mohamed Saif, Ahmed Rasheed and Hassan Naiz will be joined by keepers Mohamed Shafeeu, Mohamed Faisal and Mohamed Imran.
The Maldives will face Afghanistan on the 6th of this month, and will face Bhutan on the 13th of this month.
