Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) says the five individuals aboard the ‘Roadhi’ boat have been found.

MNDF media official said the vessel was reported as missing at around 10.30am on Thursday and was found four nautical miles off of Fihaalhohi. The five individuals were found by ‘Fazaa’ speed boat.

‘Roadhi’ is owned and captained by Ibrahim Hassan from Dhangethi island in Alif Dhaal Atoll. A family relative reported that Ibrahim had contacted his wife at around 10.00am, reported that the boat was flooding. The family contacted MNDF with this information.

MNDF has appealed to exercise proper safety measures in light of the current weather conditions and the rise in naval accidents.
