Thinadhoo Island of Gaafu Dhaalu atoll has become the victor for Zone-7 in the STO Minivan Championship held in the outer lying atolls, after defeating Nilandhoo of Gaafu Alifu atoll.
Thinadhoo beat Nilandhoo in the match played on Wednesday evening, 2-1.
The first half ended with neither team scoring as they had played an equal game but missed chances to score.
Nilandhoo had shown a significant improvement in their strategy and managed to make a lead by scoring on the 61st minute of the match.
Thinadhoo had scored consecutively on four and six minutes later before switching to a defensive tactic securing them their win.
Last week, Thinadhoo became the atoll champion with a record of no losses.
Thinadhoo had won the Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll rounds after defeating Madaveli island, 3-0.
