Hospital in Thinadhoo disallows privately owned television stations
The hospital disallowed viewing television stations other than public broadcaster Public Service Media (PSM)
This decision was reportedly made in response to employees and patients viewing the privately owned RaajjeTV

The Dr. Abdul Samad Memorial Hospital in Thinadhoo island of Gaafu Dhaalu atoll has disallowed viewing television stations other than public broadcaster Public Service Media (PSM).

The hospital’s memo applies to all health centers and sections operated under the hospital. A source from the Hospital said that this decision was made in response to employees and patients viewing the privately owned RaajjeTV there.

The source further said that this had become an issue especially during the Local Council Elections, where RaajjeTV had managed to report on the results of Saturday’s ballots before PSM.

The opposition Maldivian Democratic Party’s candidates contesting for the Thinadhoo constituency had acquired seats for the council.
