Police begins probe into the death of three tourists

Maldives Police Service (MPS) has begun investigating the death of three tourists while on vacations in three different resorts.

Police revealed the reports of three tourist deaths to media, revealing that the death of a 62-year-old American tourist in Park Hyatt Maldives Hadahaa Resort while out snorkeling. The report was received close to 2pm on Monday, revealed police.

The 62-year-old has been taken to Gaaf Alif Atoll Hospital.

Further, MPS revealed that they received the report of a 38-year-old Indonesian tourist’s death in Lily Beach Resort, where he worked. Report have it that he went to sleep, and never woke up.

The third case was of a 62-year-old Chinese tourist who died while out swimming in Fihaalhohi Resort. Police received the report at 10:34am on Monday.

Police have launched further investigations into the three cases.
