NSPA falsely claims disbursement of funds for persons with disabilities
NSPA delayed disability benefits citing beneficiary list issues, though some recipients had not received payments by Tuesday despite claims all funds were disbursed
The absence of disability allowances at the beginning of December created significant difficulties
Public concerns have been growing since November 26

The National Social Protection Agency (NSPA) has made false claims about the disbursement of financial benefits allocated for persons with disabilities, asserting that all payments have been completed.

Several members of the public raised concerns to RaajjeMV regarding delays in receiving these benefits, noting that while payments are typically deposited before the end of each month, they had not received their November entitlements even as December began.

In response to these concerns, RaajjeTV’s ‘Fashaairu’ morning talk show contacted NSPA for clarification. The agency acknowledged a delay in this payment cycle but offered only a limited explanation, attributing the setback to an issue with the beneficiary list.

NSPA stated that all funds would have been disbursed by the previous day, claiming that no payments remained outstanding and describing the delay as a departure from the usual end-of-month schedule caused by the list-related issue.

Despite NSPA’s assertion, some members of the public who spoke to RaajjeMV confirmed that they had not received their funds by Tuesday.

The absence of these allowances at the beginning of the new month created significant difficulties for persons with disabilities. Public concern over the non-disbursement of these benefits had been growing since November 26.

NSPA’s delay in disbursing benefits to persons with disabilities coincided with major delays in salary payments for government employees last month.
