United Victory (UV) has wrapped up the first round of the Dhiraagu Dhivehi Premier League (DDPL) with a strong 3–1 win over Club Green Streets in Sunday evening’s clash at Galolhu National Stadium.
UV struck early, with Muslim Mohamed putting them ahead in the 18th minute. After the break, foreign recruit Mostafa Mahmoud Elshazly doubled the lead, setting the tone for UV’s control of the second half.
Adam Shiyan Mohamed then pushed UV further ahead, slotting in their third goal in the 78th minute. Green managed to pull one back late in the match, with Rilwan Waheed converting a penalty in the 84th minute, Green’s only goal of the night.
With this fixture, the first round of the league comes to a close.
Reigning champion team Maziya Sports and Recreation sits firmly at the top with 27 points, winning all nine of their matches.
Odi Sports Club follows in second with 22 points, while New Radiant Sports Club holds third place with 17 points. Buru Sports Club, with 14 points, are in fourth, and Club Eagles trails close behind in fifth with 13 points.
Victory Sports Club occupies sixth place with 10 points, and UV stands in seventh with seven points. Club Valencia sits in eighth, TC Sports Club in ninth, and Green remains at the bottom of the 10-team league table.
