The Maldivian Government has spent MVR 797.9 million on Public Sector Investment Programs (PSIP), by 09 February 2023.
According to the statistics publicized by the Ministry of Finance, the highest expenditure was made on road development and land reclamation projects. As such, the state has so far spent MVR 118.4 million on road development projects and MVR 138.5 million on land reclamation projects, so far this year.
Additionally, the state has so far spent MVR 203.8 million on projects related to the transportation sector. As such, MVR 125 million was spent on harbor development projects and MVR 25.4 million has been spent on airport development projects during this time frame. MVR 53.4 million has been spent on bridge development projects.
Ministry's statistics shows that MVR 67.7 million has been spent on housing and infrastructure projects.
Additionally, MVR 52.5 million has been spent on general administration projects.
The government has spent MVR 79.7 million on water and sewerage development projects. This includes MVR 38 million on installation of water and sewerage systems in islands, MVR 27.1 million spent on water systems and MVR 14.7 million spent on sewerage system installation.
Ministry's statistics goes on to reveal that MVR 58.8 million has been spent on the education sector.
While MVR 29.1 million has been spent on coastal protection projects, MVR 5.1 million was spent on waste management projects.
Statistics also shows that MVR 23.4 million was spent on the social sector.
Furthermore, MVR 11.8 million was spent on health sector development projects.
The Maldivian Government's expenditure currently sits at MVR 4.5 billion according to the Finance Ministry.
