The incumbent administration of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has been successful in initiatives to develop human resources across the Maldives, says Vice President Faisal Naseem.
The vice president said this while speaking at the function held to inaugurate the first technical and vocational education and training center dedicated to children including those with special needs, on Thursday.
“Fannu Veshi”, based at Imaduddin School, is the first technical and vocational education and training center dedicated to children, including special needs children.
Shedding light on the administration’s “ambitious” human resources development initiatives, the vice president stated that these initiatives are “bearing fruit”.
Going on to highlight the administration’s commitment to promoting inclusive education, VP Naseem stated that multiple initiatives are underway across the country, in the same field.
The vice president stated that the government has included therapeutic treatment for children and people with disabilities under the National Health Insurance Scheme as part of President Solih’s first 100-day pledges.
With this being said, VP Naseem said that efforts are also underway to introduce treatment services in Kulhudhuffushi City.
The ceremony also saw VP Naseem conferring commemorative plaques to those who assisted in establishing "Fannu Veshi”.
The establishment will focus its Maldives Qualification Authority (MQA) certification Level III programmes on four areas including culinary arts, beauty therapy, technology and tailoring.
