Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulla Shahid has expressed gratitude to the High Commissioner of Bangladesh to Maldives, Mohammed Nazmul Hassan for his strong commitment to revive the bilateral ties between Maldives and Bangladesh.
The Bangladeshi HC paid a farewell call on the Minister on Tuesday, where the pair engaged in discussions revolving around a wide array of topics
The call saw FM Shahid expressing sincere gratitude and appreciation to the Bangladeshi HC for his strong commitment and contribution to revive and strengthen the bilateral relationship and cooperation between the two countries.
He also thanked the government of Bangladesh for the “kind” and “generous” support Bangladesh has extended over the past years.
HC Hassan revealed that his tenure in the Maldives has been memorable and rewarding as he witnessed the exchange of a number of high-level visits between the two countries.
He also had the honor to witness the conclusion of key agreements on cooperation, specifically in the areas of trade, health, youth and sports.
The meeting also saw the pair touching down on the recent successful state visit by the Prime Minister of Bangladesh to the Maldives in December 2021 and the State Visit of President of Maldives to Bangladesh in March 2021.
These visits opened up new horizons in the bilateral chapter between the two countries.
Expressing hope to see the relationship between Maldives and Bangladesh enhancing in the future, the High Commissioner expressed his affections towards the support and cooperation extended to him during his tenure.
The High Commissioner of Bangladesh received well wishes for his future endeavors, by the Maldivian Minister.
The meeting was joined by Abdul Ghafoor Mohamed, Foreign Secretary and Khadeeja Najeeha, Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
