Slain blogger and social media activist, Yameen Rasheed’s family has met US Embassy officials in Sri Lanka.
No details of the meeting have been made public, but an official with the US Embassy had confirmed the meeting to Raajje.mv.
Raajje.mv understands that Yameen’s father, Hussain Rasheed had participated in the meeting.
Yameen’s murder had been condemned by many, including Atul Keshap. Keshap, Ambassador of United States to Sri Lanka and the Maldives, called on a speedy investigation into the murder and to bring the perpetrators to justice. He also said that Yameen was a champion of human rights for all and freedom of speech.
Police is yet to make an arrest over the murder but had published the photos of two suspects.
