Indian Football Captain Sunil Chhetri has indicated that he is to retire from Indian national team.

Chhetri said the 2019 Asian Cup in UAE will be the last major tournament he will play for the national side.

Chhetri was instrumental in many of the wins for the Indian national team, both in regional tournaments and other tournaments. He was a key figure in the AFC Challenge Cup final match, scoring three goals out of the four against Tajikistan.

Chhetri had scored 53 goals in 93 matches for the national side.
