Maldives Police Service (MPS) has said that no one from the Maldives Police had spoken to UK’s news source, The Sun, after it reported that police are probing into Katie Price, after photos of her sunbathing topless in a resort in the Maldives emerged online.
An article published on The Sun on Friday said, that Maldives police “are said to be investigating” reports that Price, 38, was sunbathing topless in Maldives, adding that nudity “is strictly forbidden in the Maldives”.
It noted that if proven guilty, the former model could face a hefty fine or imprisonment.
The Sun reported that a spokesperson at MPS had told them that “if it is true and complaint is made, the local station will start to investigate”.
The official is to have told them that “this is not allowed,” and that it “is against the law” and that such allegations are taken “very seriously”.
However, speaking to RaajjeMV on Saturday night, an official from MPS said that no one from MPS had spoken to The Sun, and that the comments were added without reaching out to them.
When asked if such an investigation was going on, the official said that the institution “will always ensure the safety and privacy of all tourists in the Maldives”.
Price was in Maldives with her husband Keiran Hayler, 30, and five children, stayinin Kandima Resort in Dhaalu Atoll.
