The government is working to cover the swimming track area in capital city Malé and have showers installed there.
Youth Minister Ahmed Mahloof announced that the government has been working to install showers closer to the track, and cover the area.
Minister Mahloof said this in response to a tweet; adding that President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and Infrasturcture Minister Mohamed Aslam have signed off on it as well.
Mahloof said that delays in covering the area and installing showers were caused due to intial difficulty in acquiring permits for the project.
Showers are currently installed across the road from the track and those that want to use them are required to cross, usually amid heavy traffic as the capital city’s outer road is in constant heavy use.
