Minister of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment, Ahmed Mahloof has given assurance that Maldives will work closely with FIFA and AFC in respect to their regulations.

The Minister stated this after having met the President of the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA), Gianni Infantino and President of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Sheikh Salman Bin Ibrahim Al-Khalifa.

Minister Mahloof met both Presidents on Saturday during the inauguration of the Asian Cup in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

The Minister posted pictures of the meeting on Twitter shortly after, writing that he had given both Presidents assurance of Maldives determination to work closely in respect to their regulations.

Minister Mahloof had also met the AFC President in December following an invitation from him, where he assured that Maldives will always welcome the advice of the FIFA constitution and will not contravene the constitution.

FIFA President Infantino is also set to visit Maldives in the near future, where he is scheduled to meet President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.
