Vice-presidential candidate Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has highlighted several obstacles to local businesses and pledged to clear them.
Speaking at a campaign event in Vilufushi island of Thaa atoll, Faisal said that one of the primary obstacles local businesses face is a slow bureaucratic process.
“Documents and requests filed at state offices now do not get a swift reply”, Faisal said, pledging to alter conditions if he is elected into office.
Further, Faisal said that while a number of islands in Thaa atoll are set to be developed into tourist resorts, none of the projects have gone through and reached fruition.
Talking of facilities required by Thaa atoll, Faisal said that medical and education outlets need to be developed.
Faisal also said that his ‘unity’ government will work to build a football stadium in Vilufushi island, adding that his entire trip to the atoll has shown how ‘starved’ they are for development.
