Joint Opposition's presidential candidate Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has said that everyone will have access to basic services by the end of his term.

Speaking at a campaign event in GA. Dhevvadhoo on Saturday, Solih noted that islands need better transportation and sewerage systems.

Also in his speech, Solih pledged to expand guesthouse businesses by issuing loans for its development as well as giving the government’s full support for development projects undertaken by the island councils, adding that the government’s role should be to provide finances for such projects.

“Soft loans will be provided for development of guesthouses. We have decided to develop Maldives in a decentralized system. Island residents should have the say in developing the islands. Councils should play the leadership role.”

He added that he has learnt in his campaign tour that Maldivians are steadfast against oppression, which will be shown through their votes.
