Ministry of Islamic Affairs is to begin distributing payments of Zakat to the poverty stricken in September.
According to an announcement made by the ministry on Monday, they are to begin distributing zakat from the 04th to the 06th of September, from 09:00 a.m. to 03:00 p.m.
The ministry further said that those who are unable to collect their zakat payments may send another individual with their ID cards, and that the ministry will give zakat to anyone who comes with the ID cards of individuals registered as underprivileged.
The ministry is to release 150 tokens for each day and a maximum of 15 ID cards will be accepted for each token.
Islamic ministry in June revealed that while 3,142 individuals had registered as underprivileged citizens in 2017, a total of 3,299 underprivileged citizens had registered in 2018.
