Maldives’ main airport operator has announced that they are seeking a firm to operate and manage world’s top international franchises at Velana International Airport (VIA).
The Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) had said that the airport would welcome six new franchises including McDonalds, Pizza Hut, Starbucks, Hard Rock Café’, Domino’s and KFC.
According to MACL’s announcement, all the six outlets are to be located near the domestic terminal’s jetty area. It furthermore said that MACL was looking to complete the project by July this year.
Interested parties have been requested to submit proposals by 1500hrs of 31st January 2017. MACL said interested firms could propose multiple concepts to operate the franchises. The company expects at least four international franchises to be established within this year.
Some of the world’s famous franchises such as Burger King, The Coffee Club, Thai Express, The Pizza Company and Dairy Queen are already in operations in recently renamed Velana International Airport. Meanwhile, KFC and Pizza Hut are set to open their outlets in the soon-to-be built pavilion at Rasfannu Beach.
