Telecommunications giant Dhiraagu has officially established DhiraaguTV and Dhiraagu high speed fiber services in Dhaalu atoll Kudahuvadhoo island.
This initiative comes under the program to develop and broaden the digital services provided by the telecom giant and has so far introduced DhiraaguTV and Fiber Broadband Internet to 17 different islands.
Dhiraagu had held a remarkable ceremony to launch their services in Kudahuvadhoo as well.
The ceremony saw a draw within customers in which the lucky winner won a 55-inch TV and free DhiraaguTV and fiber broadband services for a duration of three months.
In addition to the grand prize, additional four draws were selected and awarded free DhiraaguTV and fiber broadband services for a duration of three months as well.
Kudahuvadhoo had also begun a promotion following the introduction of the services.
Under the promotion DhiraaguTV and fiber connections will be done for free along with a free Joybox through which DhiraaguTV uses a fixed broadband connection to stream.
DhiraaguTV is the first and only Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) service established in the country and has been made available nation-wide.
Dhiraagu fiber broadband service remains the fastest provider in the Maldives at a speed of 100mbps and their biggest allowance is a package of 1tb while fiber broadband is the latest technology used to provide broadband services across the nation. Whereas the introductory package of DhiraaguTV service includes over 80 channels ranging from recently introduced Disney, news, sports as well as entertainment packs, it costs MVR 300.
DhiraaguTV does not take additional charges from your Internet package, nor does it affect your internet usage allowance and uses a fixed broadband connection through joybox and set-top box streaming.
Dhiraagu has thus far provided "Fiber to the home" services to capital city Male', Villimale, Hulhumale and 39 other islands, and ADSL services to all islands with a large population.
