Raajje Television (RaajjeTV) has filed the threat of an arson attack it received from a popular pro-government Twitter account, Bhass.
RaajjeTV's Chief Operating Officer Hussain Fiyaz Moosa, on Saturday, addressed the police in a letter asking them to deal with the matter with utmost seriousness.
The account, operating under the handle of @bhassali, sent out a post threatening to torch RaajjeTV and encourages others to do so as well.
The post has since been deleted.
In October 2013, a group of masked men broke into the station’s studio and main control room. They proceeded to douse the entire premises in petrol before setting it on fire.
The damages the station incurred has been stated to be in excess of MVR 11.6 million.
