New Radiant Sports Club has relinquished the opportunity to cement their position at the top of the Male’ League, having drawn against Eagles.
New Radiant had a golden opportunity to sit comfortably at the top of the League, after Maziya were defeated by Green Streets. Had New Radiant been able to gain three points from a win against Eagles, the team could have faced Maziya in the last game of the League. Even an equalizer against Maziya would have ensured that New Radiant will win the League.
New Radiant drew against Eagles with a goal each.
The first half of the match ended goalless, in spite of the many attempts that could have ended in a goal. Eagles ended the stalemate at the 67th minute, stunning New Radiant with a brilliant goal from Mohamed Naim.
New Radiant managed to equalize the score from a penalty at the 89th minute by Adrain Galado.
Galado is currently second placed on the top scorer’s list, with 10 goals to Maziya’s Asadullah Abdullah’s 11 goals.
