Mohamed Shaveed, the chair of the Olympic Committee, has been made head of the Asian Football Confederation’s marketing committee.
Shaveed, who also serves on the AFC’s executive committee, had been deputy chair before his appointment as committee head.
He had previously served as chairman to the Maldives Football Association’s (FAM) normalization committee and had run to be FAM’s president.
However, he had later withdrawn his candidacy and expressed support for Bassaam Adeel Jaleel, the current FAM chair.
