National team departs to Oman after completing practices in Qatar

Maldives National Team has departed to Oman after completing practices in Qatar for the Asian Cup Qualifying Group stage matches.

The team arrived in Qatar on 27th of last month for practices, with the local side completing a friendly match against Qatari Al-Dhuhai. Maldives lost the match by 1-0.

A total of 23 payers are in this year’s side. Nine players from New Radiant, six from Maziya, three from TC, two from Green Street, two players from Thinadhoo and one player from Milandhoo make up the squad.

Maldives national team had already played two matches in the Qualifiers, with a defeat at the hands of Palestine and a win against Bhutan.

Maldives will face Oman on Tuesday. Oman had prepped for the match with a friendly against Afghanistan. Oman won the match by a score of 2 nil.
